WHAT IS RENTAL ARBITRAGE?
Essentially, rental arbitrage means that we don’t own any of the properties in our rental portfolio. We simply find someone that owns a property, and convince that owner to allow us to lease those properties long-term as the renter. After we furnish the properties, we then market them on a short-term rental hosting sight so that individuals can pay us to stay there temporarily.
This model allows us to generate a profit because we sign a long-term lease at a significantly lower monthly rate than the amount of monthly income that we collect from our short-term renters. In addition, this ingenious model of renting allows us to acquire additional properties much quicker and with less capital needed than if we purchased the properties ourselves.
We have found that when compared to the traditional model of residential renting, rental arbitrage is actually a far more lucrative business model in both the short run as well as the long run.
